Creative Brief:

We are excited to invite submissions for an art competition celebrating trans+ joy and allyship through creative expression.

This year the competition will have 2 categories - under 18 and over 18.

◆ Objective:

Create a powerful piece of artwork that embodies the themes of trans+ joy and/or allyship. The project seeks to celebrate the vibrancy, resilience, and beauty of the trans community while highlighting the strength of allyship and inclusivity.

◆ Creative Scope:

Artists are encouraged to use any medium or technique to express their vision. Whether through photography, sculpture, painting, mixed media, digital art, or something entirely unexpected, this is your opportunity to showcase the unique essence of trans joy and the power of connection and support.

◆ Key Considerations:

  • The artwork should evoke positivity, pride, and a sense of celebration.

  • Consider exploring personal narratives, universal experiences, or symbolic representations that reflect the themes.

  • Think about how the piece can resonate with diverse audiences, emphasising intersectionality by recognising the interconnected social identities, and the unique experiences that arise from these intersections. Encourage empathy, understanding, and solidarity.
